The sacred valley is a mixture of the archaeological complexes points of administration inka and religiosity in addition to the towns where the high Andean town lives and performs various activities such as agriculture and livestock.

This valley was the center of the Tahuantinsuyo, the Incas built archeological centers (Inca palaces, cities and even agricultural laboratories), along its banks that replicated the constellations that they knew of the andean sky the beautiful valley. Stretches from the town of Pisac to Ollantaytambo.
During the inca time here were concentrated in the agricultural and farming areas because it presents an excellent climate, very fertile land and waters of the sacred river of the Incas, you can also appreciate high technological development that reached the Incas in agriculture through systems of terraces.

SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS

In the morning approximately 8:30 a.m., pick up from the hotel to make our visit in the Sacred Valley. During the tour we will visit the town of Pisac, a picturesque colonial mestizo town. The archaeological complex of Pisaq is located on the top of a mountain from where a good part of the Sacred Valley is dominated. This wonderful place is formed by groups of platforms and architectural structures scattered on the slopes and on top of the mountain. Later we will visit the villages of Ccoya, Lamay, Calca and Urubamba.
Buffet Lunch will be served in a Local Restaurant. In the afternoon the guided tour to the Ollantaytambo Citadel, built to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of the inhabitants of the jungle. We will have the opportunity to have a clear idea of how this military, religious and cultural center was working in the Inca Empire.
On the way back to Cuzco we will visit the picturesque town of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal treasury of Túpac Inca Yupanqui was found. We will admire its well preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes in the portico, built on the foundations of an Inca building.
Return to Cuzco.
